Methanol

Methanol is a colorless, volatile, flammable organic solvent with an odor very similar to ethanol. When ingested, it converts to formaldehyde in the body, causing blindness and death.

•Due to its low freezing point, it prevents icing in winter windshield washer fluids. It is an excellent intermediate solvent in plastic, paint, and explosive production processes.
