Calcium Hypochlorite

Calcium hypochlorite (Ca(ClO)2) is an inorganic solid popularly known as bleaching powder, which is more stable than sodium hypochlorite and contains higher active chlorine (65-70%).

It is produced by reacting calcium hydroxide (slaked lime) with chlorine gas.
